Result
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OE AN APPLICATION WITH
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA, FOR A GRANT TO CONSTRUCT A FOREIGN-TRADE ZONE
AS AUTHORIZED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
ACT OF 1965, PUBLIC LAW 89-136, AS AMENDED; 42 U.S.C. 3131,
3132, 3125, 3141, 3171.
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has been notified by the Economic
Development Administration that it is eligible to receive a grant
for construction of a Foreign-Trade Zone; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Salt Lake City to apply for this
Grant in order to improve private sector employment opportunities
for all citizens and promote economic development in the City through
the construction of the Zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City that:
1. The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby
authorize the filing of an application on behalf of Salt Lake City
Corporation with the Economic Development Administration for the
purpose of constructing a Foreign-Trade Zone and related facilities.
2. Ted L. Wilson, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby
authorized to execute and file said application on behalf of Salt
Lake City Corporation, and to execute such documents as required and
appropriate to allow final approval of said application and to provide
such additional information as may be required by appropriate federal
agencies or regulations.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 29th day of June, 1978.
