WHEREAS, it is necessary to enlarge the Salt Lake City Interna- tional Airport for the purpose of construction and use thereon of necessary improvements and providing the residents of Salt Lake City and other users of the airport with facilities adding to the safety and more complete use of the airport facility; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the construction of an approach light system for Runway 16 Left, that a portion thereof be located over across and through that certain real property hereinafter described as necessary for the purposes stated in this and the preceding para- graph; and WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition, construction and completion of the above named air- port improvements; and WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it is necessary and in the public interest of said City and its inhabitants and the users of the Salt Lake City International Airport that the City enlarge the facilities of said Airport for t'he purpose of constructing an approach light system for Runway 16 Left to provide the residents of Salt Lake City and the users of the Airport facility a more safe and complete use of the entire airport. -2- That it is necessary and in the public interest of said City and its inhabitants and the users of the airport that a portion of the real property hereinafter described be available to the City and the airport for the construction of an approach light system for Runway 16 Left. That the enlargement of the Salt Lake City International Airport and the construction and use thereon of all necessary improvements to provide the residents of Salt Lake City and the users of said airport with a more safe and expedient aircraft approach light system for Runway 16 Left across and through the land hereinafter described is hereby authorized. That said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the enlargement of the Salt Lake City International Airport facility, and the acquisition of said land by Salt Lake City for such purpose is hereby declared to be a public necessity and for the convenience, wel- fare, safety and protection of the inhabitants of said City and the users of said Airport. That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are author- ized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department of Salt Lake City to acquire thereby all the land hereinafter described for the necessary enlargement and construction of additional facilities at the Salt Lake City International Airport as hereinabove set forth. The parcel of land hereinabove referred to and hereby authorized to be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance with the pro- visions of the statutes and the Constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain is situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more particularly described as follows: -3- Beginning at a point on the present Airport boundary line, said point laying on the 40 Acre line and being east 1320 feet more or less and north 1,652.4 feet from the Section Corner common to Sections 20, 21, 28 and 29, T. 1 N., R. 1 W. S. L. B. and M., and running thence north 800.0 feet, thence east 446.0 feet, thence south 800.0 feet, thence west 446 feet to the point of beginning. Containing 8.19 Acres more or less.
