RESOLUTION
Result . . .
WHEREAS, Leslie M. Darke has served Salt Lake City Corporation in
its Fire Department for the past 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Darke is retiring from his employment on a service
pension as of August 1, 1970, as Fireman First Grade; and
WHEREAS, during his many years of employment in the Fire Department,
he has distinguished himself by faithfully discharging his duties as a
dedicated fire fighter engineer; and
WHEREAS, Fireman First Grade Leslie M. Darke has earned the respect
and admiration of his fellow workers for his exceptional ability in
driving fire fighting apparatus; and
WHEREAS, he has compiled an unprecedented record of driving fire
department apparatus without accident or injury for a period of 291/2
years; and
WHEREAS, his keen vision, outstanding perception and knowledge of
his work has enabled him to arrive promptly at all assigned dispatches
with crew and apparatus safe and intact; and
WHEREAS, he has made a valuable contribution to the safety and well-
being of the residents of Salt Lake City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY that said Board, on its behalf and on behalf of the resi-
dents of Salt Lake City, does hereby express deep gratitude and apprecia-
tion for the devoted and dedicated service Mr. Darke has rendered during
his employment with the Fire Department and expresses its best wishes
for a long and enjoyable retirement.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
28th day of July, 1970.
