41 of 1981 - Interlocal cooperation agreement with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) - Salt Lake City RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City desires to enter into a cooperative
agreement with the Utah Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the Interlocal Cooperation Act
in the State of Utah, Salt Lake City has the authority to
enter into such an agreement with the Utah Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Council that it is to the
benefit of Salt Lake City to enter into this agreement which
provides that Salt Lake City will accept responsibility for the
maintenance of 2300 East Street from Foothill Drive to the Salt
Lake Country Club, until the legislature designates 2300 East
Street in that portion as a City street and drops its designa-
tion as a State highway, and the Utah Department of Transportation
will accept the maintenance responsibilities for Third North
Street between State Street and East Capitol Boulevard, East
Capitol Boulevard between Third and Fifth North Streets, and
Fifth North Street between East Capitol Boulevard and Columbus
Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah, as follows:
1. Salt Lake City does hereby endorse and accept the
agreement between Salt Lake City and the Utah Department of
Transportation, whereby Salt Lake City and the Utah Department
of Transportation will accept responsibility for the exchange
of street maintenance as outlined above, subject to the terms
and conditions of said agreement.
2. Mayor Ted L. Wilson is hereby authorized, empowered and
directed to execute the agreement on behalf of Salt Lake City
Corporation.
