Result RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, that the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract on behalf of Salt Lake City, with Walter F.
Joel., for the period of two years, beginning August 1, 1916, renew-
able and terminable at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners;
said contract to embrace the following provisions:
That the said Josi, as en employee of the City Treasurer,
shall have general charge of the collection of the dog taxes imposed
by the ordinances of Salt Lake City. He shall impound unlicensed
dogs, grant dog licenses and receive the fees for the same, which
he shall forthwith report, and pay over to the City Treasurer. He
shall furnish tags or checks to owners taking out licenses for
doge, and put to death unlicensed dogs in accordance with the oity
ordinances, and shall put to death oats when asked to do so by the
Board of Health. All licenses and tags required by the said.Josi
under this contract shall be furnished by Salt Lake City. For
automobile for transporting unlicensed doge, impounding, feeding
and caring for said dogs, said Josi shall receive the fees therefor
as prescribed by city ordinances.
The said Josi shall bear all the expense of collecting,
impounding, feeding and killing unlicensed dogs. For his services
as above set forth, he shall -receive from Salt Lake City in monthly
payments, C1.00 for each male dog licensed in Salt Lake City during
the life of this contract, 01.50 for each female dog so licensed,
and $0.50 for each dog or cat put to death by hiT; provided, however,
that the said Josi shall guarantee, barring a dog epidemic, that
the City's share of the receipts from dog licenses shall not be
less than w3800.00 per annum.
Said Josi shall give bond to Salt Lake City for the faithful
performance of his duties, and for a true accounting and payment
of all moneys collected by him under this contract, in the sum of
$2,000.00.
