RESOLUTION
Result . . . .
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has adopted a master plan for the orderly
expansion of the Salt Lake City Municipal Airport to accommodate the
needs and requirements of a rapidly expanding air transportation industry;
and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity requires the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described for the orderly expansion and
development of said airport in accordance with said master plan; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for adequate access to, and
egress from, the Salt Lake City Municipal Airport for the benefit of the
public; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity requires the construction
of new highways for public access and a highway interchange at the inter-
section of 40th West and 7th North Streets to facilitate the increasing
flow of traffic to and from said airport; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described for the above named public
improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, UTAH:
1. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants to expand the boundaries of the Salt Lake City Municipal
Airport to accommodate the present needs and requirements of the air
transportation industry and the needs and requirements of said industry
which will arise within a reasonable period of time hereafter in accor-
dance with the master plan for the orderly expansion and development of
said airport.
2. That it is necessary and in the public interest of said city and
its inhabitants to provide for adequate access to, and egress from, the
Salt Lake City Municipal Airport and to construct a highway interchange at
the intersection of 40th West and 7th North Streets to facilitate the
increasing flow of traffic to and from said airport and that said construc-
tion is necessary and is hereby declared to be an integral part of the
orderly development of said airport in accordance with said master plan.
3. That the acquisition of the real property hereinafter described
for the above purposes is hereby authorized.
4. That the land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the immediate
expansion of the Salt Lake City Municipal Airport in accordance with the
foregoing master plan and for the location and construction of the above
described highway interchange, and the acquisition of said land by Salt
Lake City for such purposes is hereby declared to be a public necessity
and for the protection and welfare of the inhabitants of said city.

5. That eminent domain proceedings be, and the same hereby are,
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Depart-
ment thereof to acquire all of the land hereinafter described for the
expansion of the Salt Lake City Municipal Airport and the construction of
the highway interchange as hereinabove set forth.
6. That the land hereinabove referred to and hereby authorized to
be acquired by condemnation proceedings in accordance with the statutes
and constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain is
situated in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more particu-
larly described as follows:
PARCEL NO. 1:
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Section 30, Township
1 North, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and
running thence South 89°55'42" West, along the Section line,
500.0 feet; thence North 0°04'54" West, 400.0 feet; thence
North 89°55'42" East, 500.0 feet; thence South 0°04'54"
East, 400.0 feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL NO. 2:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Section 31, Township
1 North, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, and
running thence South 89°55'42" West, along the Section line,
591.0 feet; thence South 0°04'54" East, 591.0 feet; thence
North 89°55'42" East, 591.0 feet to the Section line; thence
North 0°04'54" West, along said Section line, 591.0 feet to
the point of beginning.
PARCEL NO. 3:
BEGINNING at a point on the Section line, said point being
South 0°04'54" East, 591.0 feet from the Northeast corner
of Section 31, Township 1 North, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Base
and Meridian, and running thence South 0°04'54" East, along
said Section line, 729.15 feet; thence South 89°55'42" West,
844.2 feet, more or less, to the Westerly right of way line
of the Surplus Canal; thence North 41°26'38" West, along said
Westerly right of way line, 1758.9 feet, more or less, to the
Section line common to Sections 30 and 31, thence North 89°
55'42" East along said Section line, 915.5 feet, more or less;
thence South 0°04'54" East, 591.0 feet; thence North 89°55'42"
East, 591.0 feet to the point of beginning.
