RESOLUTION
Result . . . .
WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners deems it advisable to
employ nine parking meter patrolwomen for the purpose of inspect-
ing parking meters throughout the City to determine if vehicles are
being parked in violation of city ordinances as made and provided; and
WHEREAS, the job function duties of the proposed new employees
is closely coordinated with the Traffic Violations Bureau and the
related functions thereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be most reasonable that said new employees
should be assigned to and under the supervision of the Traffic Viola-
tions Bureau, as a noncivil service function of said office, and that
they should not, in any way, be subject to control or supervision of
any other department; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY as follows:
1. Nine parking meter inspectors shall be employed by the City.
That the same shall be employed by the Traffic Violations Bureau (under
the Department of Finance) , noncivil service.
2. That as the need for additional parking meter inspectors shall
become evident, additional inspectors shall be employed, from time to
time, as determined by the Commission in accordance herewith.
3. That said meter inspectors shall be under the exclusive direc-
tion, supervision and control of the head of the Traffic Violations
Bureau. That they shall not be subject to direction, supervision or
control of any other department.

4. That their duties, functions and responsibilities shall be
exclusively determined by the Traffic Violations Bureau.
5. That their job description code classification shall be 7051;
that their pay classification shall be Class 6, all in accordance
with the Ordinances of Salt Lake City as made and provided.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 19th day of August, 1969.
