Box 90005-Airport Station Los Angeles, California 90009 Gentlemen: Here is a resolution, passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, opposing the removal of your stewardess base from Salt Lake City and the State of Utah, and requesting that you re- consider your decision and not move said stewardess base from Salt Lake City, Utah. It is respectfully requested that you give this matter your earnest consideration. WHEREAS, Western Air Lines International, for many years, has maintained in Salt Lake City a stewardess base; and WHEREAS, the maintenance of said stewardess base in Salt Lake City has resulted in bringing to, and keeping within, Salt Lake City and the State of Utah, a desirable facility and a substantial pay- roll; and WHEREAS, there presently is an organized and energetic state program to aid in the industrial development of the state by encour- aging and soliciting industries to locate their plants and facilities in the Sate of Utah; and WHEREAS, Western Air Lines International has expressed its intention to remove its stewardess base from Salt Lake City and locate the same outside the State of Utah and such action would militate against the industrial development program above mentioned and would result in a loss to Salt Lake City and the State of Utah of a substantial facility and its attendant payroll: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby vigorously oppose the removal of said stewardess base from Salt Lake City and the State of Utah and earnestly requests Western Air Lines International to reconsider its decision and not move said stewardess base from Salt Lake City, Utah.
