OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Edwin Quayle Cannon departed from this life on the 3rd day
of August, 1971, at the age of 84; and
WHEREAS, he has devoted a major portion of his life to public ser-
vice being elected three times as a member of the Salt Lake County Commis-
sion and once to the Utah House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, he was active in his chosen profession as president of the
Salt Lake Stamp Company since 1910; and
WHEREAS, he was active in professional, community, civic and fraternal
organizations in the community; and
WHEREAS, in his passing the City of Salt Lake has lost one of its
respected and valued citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, in its own behalf and in behalf of the residents of
Salt Lake City, that the Board does hereby express its deep and sincere
thanks and appreciation for the many contributions made to this community
during the life of Edwin Quayle Cannon.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this
Resolution of Condolence to the family of Mr. Cannon as an expression of
our sympathy for the loss sustained in his passing.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah this
loth} day of August, 1971.
