C. 20220 Dear Sir: Here is a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, opposing any deletion or reduction of the present appropriation of$25,000.00, for the establishment of a customs office at the Salt Lake City International Airport, and announcing support of the presently approved customs office project. It is respectfully requested that you give this matter your earnest consideration. WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has heretofore approved the Treasury Post Office Appropriation Bill designating $25,000.00 for the establishment of a customs office at the Salt Lake City International Airport; and WHEREAS, the establishment of said customs office is essential to the development and servicing of substantial international trade and commerce in this metropolitan area and the surrounding intermountain states; and WHEREAS, present budget reductions of the federal government and its agencies may jeopardize the foregoing appropriation and delay the establishment of the presently needed customs office at said airport; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it vigorously opposes any deletion or reduc- tion of the present appropriation for the establishment of a customs office at the Salt Lake City International Airport and that said board hereby announce its irrevocable support of the presently approved customs office project. The City Recorder is hereby directed to mail a copy of this resolu- tion to the Honorable Secretary of the Treasury Henry H. Fowler, Treasury Building, Washington, D. C.
