Result . . . . OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Marvin H. Strong has been the conductor of the Salt
Lake City Municipal Band, formerly Strong's Military Band; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Strong is retiring as conductor of said band after
conducting the concert at Liberty Park on Sunday, August 16, 1970,
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Strong has contributed greatly to this community
in the field of music, serving as organizer and director of said
band, teacher and music supervisor in the Granite School District,
and director of the 145th Field Artillery National Guard Band; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Strong has been an exemplary citizen of his country
and of this community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express its most sincere
and heartfelt appreciation for his great contribution to this community,
and said Board extends to him its best wishes for a long, productive
and enjoyable period of retirement. The City Recorder is hereby
deliver
directed to XMII a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Strong.
