WHEREAS, Mr. Thad B. Emery will retire as License Assessor and
Director for Salt Lake City Corporation on July 1, 1976; and
WHEREAS, Thad Emery became an employee of Salt Lake City Corpora-
tion on March 1, 1942, as Chief Clerk in the Parks Department and in
1947 he was advanced to the position of Officer Manager; and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 1964, Mr. Emery was appointed by the Salt
Lake City Board of Commissioners as License Assessor and has remained
in that position until the present time; and
WHEREAS, Thad Emery has performed all of his duties efficiently,
faithfully and honestly; he has thus earned the respect and love of
his colleagues and the public with whom he dealt; and
WHEREAS, during his long tenure of office he served with great
fidelity and untiring efforts, carefully protecting the interests of
Salt Lake City, yet still treating all with a courtesy and quiet
dignity which were qualities uniquely his.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY that said Board does hereby express to Mr. Emery, on
behalf of itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, their sincere
appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable service, for
the friendship he has given to all of his associates; and for his
years of loyalty and dedication. The Board further extends to him
its fondest wishes that he will enjoy happiness and health in his
retirement.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 29th day of June, 1976.
