Butcher for his services as an em- ployee of the City Engineer's Office and extending him best wishes for happiness and success in his retirement. Butcher has been employed with Salt Lake City as an engineer for the past 21 years, commencing his public service on March 16, 1951; and WHEREAS, he worked until 1962 as a construction engineer with various duties in that capacity, and from that time to the present he has been assigned as a Project Engineer; and WHEREAS, in his capacity as a Project Engineer has been assigned many of the major construction projects commenced in Salt Lake City during the past 10 years, among others being the Metropolitan Hall of Justice, Salt Lake City-County Board of Health building, Big Cottonwood and City Creek Water Treatment and reservoir plants, Rose Park, Mountain Dell and Glendale Golf Courses, and the Water Department Shop building; and WHEREAS, Mr. Butcher has on many occasions demonstrated his ability as an engineer and has been well recognized for his insistence upon the highest standards of construction, thereby insuring the citizens of Salt Lake the maximum of quality and safety with respect to the projects to which he has been assigned; and WHEREAS, Harry F. Butcher has retired from employment with Salt Lake City effective October 15, 1972; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that it does hereby express to Harry F. Butcher, on behalf of the Board and on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, its sin- cere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable service rendered in behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City. Said Board extends to him its best wishes for happiness and success in the days to come. The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this Resolution of Appreciation to Harry F. Butcher.
