Result
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Ray S. Kimball has been employed with Salt Lake
City Corporation for the past 44 years with the exception of a
three year leave of absence during World War II, commencing his
public service with the City Water Department in 1929; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kimball has retired from his position with
the City on July 1 , 1973; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kimball for the last 25 years has served in
the capacity of patrolman for City Creek Canyon, which duties he
commenced upon his return from World War II; and
WHEREAS, prior to World War II, he did serve as caretaker
for Mountain Dell Dam and patrolman for Parley's Canyon; and
WHEREAS, he has faithfully and diligently performed his
duties for the City performing fire watch for a large area cover-
ing the territory between Ensign Peak and Emxiigration Canyon, in
winter keeping the road cleared from the gate to the treatment
plant which is located three miles up the canyon, and performing
general supervision of the canyon; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City and its residents owe him a debt
of gratitude for his service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express to Mr. Kimball
its sincere and heartfelt appreciation for his faithful service to
the City and to its inhabitants. Said Board further extends to him
its best wishes for a long and enjoyable retirement.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of
this Resolution to Mr. Kimball .

Utah, this 5th day of July, 1973.
