OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, the Honorable Melvin H. Morris was sworn in as a Judge
on January 1, 1964 and has ever since that time served as a Salt
Lake City Court Judge; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Morris will, on July 1, 1978, become a Judge of
the newly created Circuit Court system; and
WHEREAS, during the course of his judgeship in the City Court
system, Mr. Morris has performed all of his duties efficiently,
faithfully and honestly; and has earned the respect and admiration
of his colleagues, the public with whom he has dealt, attorneys
practicing in his court and all other persons who had dealings in
his courtroom; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Morris has handled all matters coming to his court
with understanding and fairness and has at all times carried out
justice to the best of his ability;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City that the Board does hereby express to Melvin H.
Morris on behalf of itself and on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake
City, its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devotion and
capable services. The Board of Salt Lake City Commissioners wishes
Mr. Morris well in his new appointment as a Circuit Court Judge.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 29th day of June, 1978.
