BE IT RESOLVES; by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary and proper
expenses of Salt Lake City, and maintaining the government, there
be, and there is hereby levied upon all the real and personal
property within Salt Lake City, made taxable by law, for the fisw

cal year ending December 31st, 1916, a tax of six and one-half

(64) mills per eaoh dollar assessed valuation of said property.
Said tax is hereby levied and it is to be raised for the
following purposes, and is and shall be apportioned to such pur*.
poses in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES.
To defray contingent expenses, two (2) mills on eaoh dol-
lar assessed valuation of said property.

To purchase water souroes, streams and the land upon which
such streams are appropriated, and canals; to construct water-
works, and to supply water for irrigation and other purposes, one-
third (1/3) of a mill on eaoh dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
