WHEREAS, it is necessary to improve the facilities of the Salt
Lake City International Airport by installing an instrument approach
system, attendant service facilities and an approach zone for the
North-South runway of the Salt Lake City International Airport; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisi-
tion of the real property hereinafter described for such improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of Salt Lake City
and its inhabitants that the City, for the use of the public, immediately
obtain the following described real property, to establish an adequate
approach zone south of the existing easternmost North-South runway at
said Airport in order to implement and use the new International Airport
instrument approach system, all of which is within the boundaries of
the Salt Lake City International Airport.
That said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof is
hereby determined to be necessary for said improvements and approach
zone as hereinabove described.
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are, author-
ized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department
of Salt Lake City, to acquire thereby all the land hereinafter described
for the necessary approach zone as hereinabove set forth.
The parcel of land hereby authorized to be acquired by condemnation
proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the statutes and the
Constitution of the State of Utah relating to eminent domain is situated
in the County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and is more particularly
described as follows:

Beginning at a point South 0°03'42" East 664.00 feet
along the Section Line from the Northeast Corner of
Section 5, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake
Meridian, said point also being North 89°56'08" East
33.00 feet from the Northeast corner of Lot 7, Block 1,
G. S. Holmes First Addition, and running thence South
0°03'42" East 847.44 feet, more or less, along said Section
Line to a point on a 4,483.66 foot radius curve to the right
forming the northerly no-access line of a freeway known as
Project I-80-3(5)116 (Note: Tangent to said curve at its
point of beginning bears S. 80°20'17" W.); thence Westerly
1171.89 feet along the arc of said curve; thence North
0°04'00" East 84.90 feet, more or less, to a point South
89°56'00" East 33.00 feet from the Southeast corner of Lot
7, Block 6, G.S. Holmes First Addition; thence North 89°
56'00" West 97.82 feet; thence North 0°58'11" East 271.52
feet; thence North 85°01'28" East 415.15 feet; thence South
0°04'00" West 157.97 feet to a point North 89°56'00" West
33.00 feet from the Northwest corner of Lot 12, Block 8,
G. S. Holmes First Addition; thence South 89°56'00" East
186.00 feet to a point South 89°56'00" East 33.00 feet from
the Northeast corner of said Lot 12; thence North 0°04'00"
East 660.00 feet to a point North 89°56'00" West 33.00 feet
from the Northwest corner of Lot 54, Block 2, G. S. Holmes
First Addition; thence South 89°56'00" East 656.05 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 18.162 acres, more or
less.
