WHEREAS, Halie C. Wood commenced employment with Salt Lake City on February
6, 1961, as the Director of Animal Control and has served in that capacity for the
past 15 years; and
WHEREAS, through his efforts, Mr. Wood upgraded the Department of Animal
Control and was instrumental in the enlargement of the animal shelter facilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wood's love for animals and for his achievements in animal control
made him the recipient of the 1976 Humane Society's "Humanitarian Award"; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure of employment, Halie Wood has rendered valuable
service to Salt Lake City and discharged his duties conscientiously and with fidelity,
honesty and diligence, always with the best interests of the City and its residents
in mind in the performance of such duties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY
that said Board does hereby express to Mr. Halie C. Wood its sincere appreciation
for his faithful service and the manner in which he has represented the City and its
inhabitants. Said Board extends to him its sincere wishes for happiness and success
in his retirement.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 21st day
of July, 1976.
