r.Chairman �/ passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
Result on the 14th day of March, 1904, granting a franchise
to I. Putnam Duncan to place and maintain waste
paper boxes on the streets of said city, should not be revoked for
matters in said oitation recited; and
WHEREAS, said Public Advertising Company appeared before the
Board of Commissioners on the 23rd day of August, 1916, at the time
appointed in said citation, and promised and agreed that it would
immediately repair said boxes and anchor them to the sidewalk and
see to it that they were properly cared for and emptied whenever
necessary:
THEREFORE, I move that said Public Advertising Company be
allowed thirty days in which to perform the promises made by it to
the Board of Commissioners, and that further hearing and decision
in these proceedings be suspended meanwhile.

Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, An ordinance was passed March 14, 1904, granting a
franchise to I. Putnam Dunoan to maintain waste paper boxes on the
sidewalks of Salt Lake City, and regulating the same, whioh said
ordinance provides that in the event of any breach made by said
Duncan or his heirs or assigns, said franchise may be revoked and
oancelled; and
WHEREAS, Constant complaints have been received from property
owners and citizens of Salt Lake City that some of said waste paper
boxes are not securely fastened to the sidewalk and are subject to
being blown over by the wind, or knocked about upon the sidewalks,
and that many of said boxes have become dilapidated and unsightly
and are not kept in proper condition, and also that the contents
of said boxes are not removed with sufficient frequenoy and the
boxes thereupon become more or less of a nuisanoe:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the assignee of said I. Putnam
Duncan, to-wit, the Public Advertising Company, be, and it is here-
by required to appear be ore the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, on the - .. , day of August, 1916, at the hour of 11
o'clock A. M., then and there to show cause why said franohise
should not be revoked and cancelled because of the breach thereof
in the particulars hereinbefore set forth.

That the City Recorder be, and he is hereby directed to serve
'upon said Publio Advertising Company a oopy of this resolution at
least five days prior to the date set f th above.
