Result RESOLUTION
VHEREAS, I BMAN H. GREEN, for ten and one-half years a
member of the Board of Commissioners of ;Alt Lake City, departed
this life June 25th, 1926; and
WHERMS, the members of this Board who have thereby lost
a true friend and able associate desire to express their sentiments
with respect to their deceased colleague;
IvO'J, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commis-
sioners of Salt Lake City hereby attests its high appreciation and
profound respect for the life and public labors of Commissioner
Herman H. Green.
His first connection with the Salt Lake City Government
was in 1913, when, after being awarded the contract for the audit
of the city's books, his special audit was made in such a thorough
and courageous manner that it won for him public approval. Shortly
thereafter he was elected City Auditor and very ably filled that
office for a term of two years. He was then elected City Commis—
,_ stoner and has been twice re-elected, thus holding that office
for a longer time than any other commissioner. From the beginning
Mr. Green has insisted upon the improvement and beautification of
the city's park system and the city cemetery, and particularly did
he take special pride in the building and maintenance of the Muni-
cipal Bath House. In the administration of the Department of Pub-
lic Affairs and Finance he has dohe much to stabilize and'enhance
the credit of Salt Lake City. His quiet dignity, sound judgment
and business capacity won and held public confidence to a remarkable
degree.
