Result
WHEREAS, Pope Pius XI, Achille Ratti, the Supreme
Pontiff of-the Roman Catholic Church, departed this life on
February 10th, 1939, at Vatican City, Rome, Italy; and
WHEREAS, men of all ranks have joined in common te-
rea-rement kneeling to pray for the repose of his soul; and
WHEREAS, the reign of said Holy Father is regarded
as one of the most notable in church history. He spend his life
as a scholar, builder and peacemaker and he was a brilliant
executive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commis-
sioners for and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City express
to Most Reverend Duane G. Hunt, Bishop of the Romafl Catholic
Diocese of Salt Lake City, and Clergy, tkvirprofound condolences
upon the death of His Holiness Pepe Pius XI. He was loved by our
citizens and his death has been a great loss. We shall remember
his untiring efforts in the cause of peace.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread
upon the minutes of the Board of Commissioners and that a copy be
forwarded to Most Reverend Duane G. Hunt, Bishop of the Roman Catholic
Diocese of• Salt Lake City, and Clergy. �J���jJ
