Result
WHEREAS, the State law of Utah now requires the payment or
0.00 for the registration of each passenger motor vehicle in
the State of Utah, and further provides that a substantial por-
tion of the funds received from tre registration of motor vehicles
be returned to cities to be used in the building and maintenance
of Class tCt roads within cities; and
WHEREAS, there has been introduced in the House of Represen-
tatives what is known and designated as House Bill No. 36, which
bill proposes the reduction in the fee of registration from `5.00
to $1.00 per venicle; and
WHEREAS, it is most necessary that the funds as provided for
the Class tCt roads in the cities be made available to the cities
to properly maintain the standards of the highways in cities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commission-
ers of Salt Lake City go on record as opposed to the reduction
of the motor vehicle license fee as provided for in House Bill No.
36, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Presi-
dent of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives
of the Utah Legislature.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 28th day of January , A.D. 1943.
