RESOLUTION
Result
A RESOLUTION LEVYING TAXES UPON ALL REAL AND
PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, MADE TAXABLE BY
LAW, FOR THE YEAR 1946.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary
and proper expenses of Salt Lake City and maintaining the government
thereof, there be and there is hereby levied upon all the real and
personal property within Salt Lake City, Utah, made taxable by law
for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1946, a tax of 16.25 Mills
on each dollar assessed valuation of said property and 3/4 Mill
levy for Reserve Fund, as granted by the 1945 Legislature.
Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised for
the following purposes and is and shall be apportioned to such
purposes in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES
To defray contingent expenses, two and six thousand three
hundred sixteen ten thousandths (2.6316) of a mill on each dollar
assessed valuation of said property.
AUDITOR
To defray the expenses of the Auditor, one thousand, one
hundred fifty-five ten thousandths (.1155) of a mill on each dollar
assessed valuation of said property.
PUBLIC LIBRARIES
To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms, six
thousand three hundred sixteen ten thousandths (.6316) of a mill on
each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS & FINANCE

To defray the expenses of the Department of Public Affairs
and Finance, nine thousand, five hundred forty ten thousandths
(.9540) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property
DEPARTidENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
To defray the expenses of the Department of Public Safety,
five mills (5.0000) on each dollar assessed valuation of said propel
DEPARTENT OF PARKS AND Pu3LIC PROPERTY
To defray the expenses of the Department of Parks and
Public Property, one and four thousand, three hundred thirty-nine,
ten thousandths (1.4339) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation
of said property.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS
To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks, one
and eight thousand, five hundred sixty-two ten thousandths (1.8562)
of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
BONDS AND INTEREST
For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and to
constitute a Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal of
outstanding bonds, three and six thousand, two hundred seventy-two
ten thousandths (3.6272) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuatioi
of said property.
By 1945 Legislature granting 3/4 kill levy for
post-war reserves, seventy-five hundredths (.75)
of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of
said property.
It is necessary in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
for the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utah, that this resolution shall take effect upon its passage
and an emergency is hereby declared to exist so that sa'd levy may
be made and said tax collected as required b
