Result
WHEREAS, the City has previously created by administrative action
the Central City Community Center Board; and
WHEREAS, the Central City Community Center Board renders a valuable
service to the residents of Salt Lake City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that there is hereby created a
Central City Community Center Board composed of 21 members: 7 members
shall be selected at large; 7 representatives shall be selected from the
Central City Neighborhood Council Board of Trustees; 7 representatives
shall be selected from the Community Organizations operating within the
boundaries of the Central City Neighborhood.
Duties of the Board shall be to recommend policy standards and
rules governing the use of the Central City Community Center; to provide
input into the selection processes of hiring a director; to implement
all powers delegated to the Board by the Board of City Commissioners; to
secure the cooperation of all agency and organizations committed to the
prevention of poverty.
Board shall report to the Commissioner of Public Safety.
Term of the office of board members shall be 3 years, with 2 at
large members, 2 representatives from the Central City Neighborhood
Council and 3 representatives from the Community Organizations being
selected for a one year term; 2 at large representatives, 3 representa-
tives from the Central City Neighborhood Council Board of Trustees, 2
representatives from the Community Organizations selected for a term of
2 years; and 3 at large members and 2 representatives from the Central
City Neighborhood Council and 2 representatives from the Community
Organizations being selected for terms of 3 years.
The board members and their terms of office shall be those current-
ly appointed by previous action of this Board.
