RESOLUTION
WHEP AS, a71 contracts with the city for public
work provides that preference in the employment of workmen
shall be given by the contractor to the citizens of the
United States, or to those who have declared their intention
of becoming citizens, and
WHEREAS, many contractors are violating this pro-
vision in their contracts,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that this provision
in all city contracts be enforced in letter and in spirit,
to the end that bona-fide citizens and residents of this
city, and beads of families residing in this city may find
employment, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that each Commissioner
see to it that contracts in his department are enforced in
this particular.
