Also, here are copies of names of citizens who live in the vicinity of the Lake Hills Motel, which were submitted to the City Commission at the time a group of these citizens appeared before the Board of City Commissioners and protested the location of said proposed "Halfway House". WHEREAS, Salt Lake City, a municipal corporation of the State of Utah, has an interest in the location of any penal or rehabilitative institution within its boundaries; and WHEREAS, the Utah State Board of Corrections is contem- plating the establishment of a penal rehabilitative institution to be known as "Halfway House" at the Lake Hills Motel at 1865 West North Temple Street in Salt Lake City, Utah, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that the Utah State Board of Corrections be, and hereby is, advised that the commissioners oppose the establishment of a rehabilitation center to be known as "Halfway House" at 1865 West North Temple Street in Salt Lake City, Utah, and urge that it be located at a more suitable location either in the New York Hotel on Post Office Place or the Plandome Hotel on Fourth South Street in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.
