RESOLUTION .
it WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City passed
resolution May 13, 1914, authorizing end directing the Mayor and
City Recorder to advertise for bids for the sale of ,300,000.00

water and sewer bonds of the 4900,000.00 water and sewer bonds
authorized to be issued and sold by the qualified electors of this
city at the election February 18, 1914; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to and in conformity with said resolution,
the Mayor and City Recorder duly advertised for said bids; and
WHEREAS, In accordance with said advertisement, the Board of
Hommissioners in regular session June 8, 1914, opened all bids in
the hands of the City Recorder at 5 o'clock P. M. of said day; andj
WHEREAS, There were nine bids made for said bonds, to-wit:
Emery, Peck & Rockwood, Blodget & Co., Merrill, Oldham &Co. of

Chicago and New York City;
kew York Life Insurance Co. , New York City;
Estabrook & Co. , Chicago;
Curtis & Sanger, Boston;
Spencer, Trask & Co. New York City;
Harris Trust & Savings Bank, Chicago;
it E. H. Rollins & Sons,
R. M. Grant & Co. , New York City;
MCCornick & Co., Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, After considering said bids, the Board of Commissioners
is of the opinion that the bid of Emery, Peck & Rockwood, Blodget
II & Co. , Merrill, Oldham & Co., of Chicago and New York City, for
all of said bonds is the highest, best and most advantageous to
the city, which bid was and is as follows:
To take all of said bonds, toy-wit, 200,000.00 in water bonds
and 4100,000.00 in sewer bonds. Said bonds to be dated July 1,
1914, to be of the denomination of ,;1,000.00 each, to become due

and payable July 1, 1934, without option of prior pre-payment;

said bonds to draw interest at the rate of 4i% per annum, payable
semi-annually January first and July first each year; principal
and interest to be payable at the First National Bank in New York
City, New York. Said bonds to be purchased and paid for upon
P, delivery in New York City as follows:
The sum of $303,585.00, and accrued interest, if any.
NOV' THEREFORE, Be it resolved, That the bid aforesaid of
Emery,Peok & Rockwood, Blodget & Co., Merrill, Oldham & Co. , of
Chicago and New York City, be, and the same is hereby declared to
} be the highest, best and most advantageous to Salt Lake City, and
Ij that said bid be, and the same is hereby accepted.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to return the checks of
all other bidders.
