Scheid- "" Spearman Wells Mr.Chairman — Result RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on August fout•th,1916,Officers W.S.Brown,J.B.Taylor and C.A,Williams responding to a call to arrest three Mexicans who were creating a disturbance met with immediate armed resist- ance and in the fight which followed, and in which they were att n joined by Officers Cliffor,�anr W.E.Jukes, two Mexicans were killed and one Mortally wounded, and WHEREAS the exhibition of personal bravery and disregard for personal danger given by these officers indicates a sense of duty altogether commendable and deserving of the highest praise, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Commission on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City hereby heartily commends Officers W.S.Brown,J.B.Taylor,C.A.Williama,Ciifford Patten and W.E. Jukes for their bravery and for conduct which has brought honor to themselves, credit to their Department and which is so thoroughly in keeping with the ideals and best traditions of the service,and RESOLVED FURTHER: that suitably prepared copies of these res- olutions be presented to Officers Brown,Taylor,Williams,Patten and Jukes.
