Lingenfelter passed from this life October 16, 1970, at the age of 66 years; and WHEREAS, he served as Public Safety Commissioner of Salt Lake City from June 21, 1949 to December 31, 1953; and WHEREAS, he has been a devoted public servant and active sportsman and has served his community in both respects with enthusiasm and dedication; and WHEREAS, in his passing the City of Salt Lake has lost one of its respected and valued citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIS- SIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express in its own behalf and in behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, its sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the life and service of Ben E. Lingenfelter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Board does hereby express its deep sympathy to the family of Ben E. Lingenfelter. The City Recorder is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the family of Mr. Lingenfelter.
