Here is a resolution passed by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake Ctty December 26, 1968, encouraging and supporting the
purchase of Air West by the Hughes Tool Company.

WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Commission recognizes the problem
of Air West Air Lines in providing the type of service needed; and,
recognizes the need for good feeder air service throughout the Inter-
mountain area and all the west; and
WHEREAS, we urge support of any move that will strengthen
air service in Utah. This strengthening included the efforts of the
Hughes Tool Company to purchase Air West. We take mote, not to
influence stockholders, but to make known to all that Salt Lake City
deserves and needs better air service than we are presently receiving.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, that subject to the approval of the stockholders
of Air West, we encourage the support of the city for the purchase
of Air West by Hughes Tool Company.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah
this 26th day of December, 1968.
