Result
OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Mr. Augie Navarro was a valued and respected resident of
Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners, the employees of the
City and the friends of Mr. Navarro were saddened to learn of his pass-
ing from this life on August 8, 1976; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Navarro has had a long and repsected career in sports
and public service, beginning in Ogden as a catcher in 1939 for the
Ogden Reds in the old Pioneer League; as World War II Broadcaster of
Ogden Red games; as a Salt Lake County Sheriff's Deputy and as recrea-
tional supervisor for Salt Lake County from 1964 to 1976; and
WHEREAS, he diligently served as an employee of Salt Lake City from
March 1, 196T, wherein he served faithfully the citizens of the City
and the community; and
WHEREAS, he was respected, admired and loved by the residents of
Salt Lake City, and his many friends and associates; and
WHEREAS, in his passing, Salt Lake City has lost one of its most
respected and loyal citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, that the Commissioners do express, on their own
behalf and on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City, a profound
sense of loss and their most sincere sympathy to Mr. Navarro's family
in their personal bereavement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the Resolution be delivered
to the family of Mr. Augie Navarro as a token of the City's sympathy
and deep feeling of loss.
PASSED by the Board of City Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 11th day of August, 1976.
