Result 4OF CONDOLENCE TO THE FAMILY OF
MRS. MARY TELFORD KNIGHT
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Telford Knight, prominent citizen of our
community and wife of long-time City Historian Newell Knight, recently
passed away; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Knight shared in the employment and enjoyment of
her husband's occupation as Historian for Salt Lake City Corporation;
and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Knight will be remembered as an outstanding citizen
who attempted to keep alive the dynamic heritage of the State of Utah
and particularly Utah's largest capitol city and is deserving of
remembrance as one who dedicated a valuable part of her life to
obtaining and preserving items of historic and endearing value; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Knight and her husband, Newell Knight contributed
many items of historical value to and for preservation by Salt Lake
City in such a way that Salt Lake City school children and others
can enjoy the memorabilia collected concerning the City and the people
who made it what it is; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City has lost a valued citizen in her passing.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF SALT LAKE CITY COMMISSIONERS, on
behalf of themselves, the employees of Salt Lake City Corporation and
the citizens of Salt Lake City, hereby extend their deepest felt
condolences to the family of Mary Telford Knight in the loss of their
beloved mother.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 9th day of August, 1978.
