Agraz Greener Hogensen Phillips RE OLUTION Result L. �j OF APPRECIATION WHEREAS, Assistant Chief William Kresser retired from the Salt Lake City Fire Department on September16, 1976; and WHEREAS, William Kresser has served the Salt Lake City Fire Department for over 36 years, holding all ranks of the Fire Department and serving in most of its capacities; and WHEREAS, William Kresser was directly responsible for Salt Lake City's first fire prevention code in 1944 for which he received the Underwriter's National Fire Defense citation, the Department's training manual and is responsible for the City's present fire pre- vention code and numerous ordinances which have been enacted by the Commission to provide for increased safety for homes, businesses, neighborhoods and the residents of this City; and WHEREAS, William Kresser has performed each of his duties and responsibilities efficiently, faithfully and honestly and has thus earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues with whom he has dealt; and WHEREAS, during his long tenure of office he served with great fidelity and untiring efforts, striving always to insure high standards from the men who served under him in order to safeguard the lives and property of the residents of Salt Lake City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that said Board does hereby express to Assistant Chief William Kresser, on behalf of itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, their sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable service and for his years of loyalty, dedication, and service. The Board further extends to him its warmest wishes for happiness and health in his retirement.
