RESOLUTION i A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 4, 1969 WHEREAS, a Municipal Election was held on Tuesday, the 4th day of November, A.D., 1969, in the City of Salt Lake City; and WHEREAS, on Monday, the 10th day of November, 1969, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, sitting as a Board of Canvassers, as required by law, convened and did publicly canvass the returns of such election, and did continue in session until the same was concluded; and WHEREAS, on this 10th day of November, A.D., 1969, having completed said canvass, the Board does find from such canvass that the following named persons were elected from a plurality of votes cast to the offices set opposite their respective names: CITY COMMISSIONERS Conrad B. Harrison 4-Year Term James L. Barker, Jr. 4-Year Term CITY AUDITOR Lawrence A. Jones 4-Year Term CITY JUDGE Paul G. Grant 6-Year Term WHEREAS, on this 10th day of November, A.D., 1969, having completed said canvass, the Board does find from such canvass, that the proposition for creation of a Public Transit District was approved by a plurality of votes cast, and that Initiative Ordinance No. 1, relating to the repeal of the sewer use charge, enacted in 1967, and now enforced as Section 37-4-1, et seq., of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, was disapproved by a plurality of votes cast; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT Certificates of Election be issued to the following named persons to the office set oppi- site their respective names, they and each of them having received a plurality of all votes cast, and that they, and each of them, are hereby declared to have been elected to said offices and the City Recorder is hereby directed to issue a Certificate of Election to each of said persons, namely: -2- Conrad B. Harrison, Commissioner - 4-Year Term James L. Barker, Jr., Commissioner - 4-Year Term Lawrence A. Jones, City Auditor - 4-Year Term Paul G. Grant, City Judge - 6-Year Term AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Board of Commissioners hereby proclaims that the proposition for creation of a Public Transit District was approved by an affirmative vote of 38,523 to a negative vote of 3,971 , and that Initiative Ordinance No. 1, relating to the Repeal of the Sewer Use Charge Enacted in 1967, as now contained in Section 37-4-1, et seq., of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, was defeated by an "against" vote of 25,101 to a "for" vote of 17,070 This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption.
