a copy of the Commission's tribute to our former staff member
named above.
I am also writing to inquire as to the names and dates
of similar resolutions passed by the Salt Lake City Commission
for other distinguished citizens who have passed away this year.

OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren, Assistant Attorney General, passed from this life
on October 9, 1975; and
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren has served the community of Salt Lake City and the
State of Utah as an active member of the Utah State Bar, as Salt Lake City
Attorney and as an Assistant Attorney General, for many years; and
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren was an honorable, upstanding gentleman who was
full of integrity and who stood for the highest of principles, and who was a
conscientious, qualified, faithful and diligent employee of Salt Lake City
during the period of time he was engaged as City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren was admired, respected and honored by his fellow
employees, both on City and State levels of his service and by all others who
knew him; and
WHEREAS, Homer Holmgren always fulfilled his difficult and demanding
activities cheerfully and faithfully earning the respect and friendship of
many of the members of the public with whom he dealt; and
WHEREAS, his passing from this life will leave a great void in the lives
of all who knew him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City that on its behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, it
extends sincere sympathy to the family of Homer Holmgren for the great personal
loss which they have sustained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the Resolution be delivered to the
heirs of Homer Holmgren extending the City and the citizens of the City's
sympathy in their bereavement.
PASSED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 14th
day of October, 1975.
