Result RESOLUTION
Whereas it is possible to effect further
economies in,the operation and maintenance of the motor equipment
of the city by placing all such equipment in one department and by
requiring a more strict supervision and accounting for the use of
all such motor vehicles.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the city attorney be,
and he is hereby directed to prepare and present to the Board of
Commissioners at the earliest possible date an ordinanoe providing
for the establishment of a sub-department in the Department of
, said sub-department to have oharge of the care, main-
tenance, repair and supervision of all the motor vehicles belonging
to Salt Lake City,and providing for a thorough and efficient re-
gulation of the use of all motor vehicles by said officers and em-
ployes, and further providing for a system of a000nnting whereby the
proportionate cost of such motor vehicles shall be charged directly
to the department making use of the same upon the proper requisition
and charge; that said ordinance shall provide that all automobiles,
trucks and motorcycles of all the city departments, with the exception
of the Fire Department, shall be turned over to said new department
for supervision, repair, maintenance and control in acoordance with
the provisions of said ordinance.
