A RESOLUTION LEVYING TAXES UPON ALL REAL AND
PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, MADE TAXABLE BY
LAW, FOR THE YEAR 1947.
Be it Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah:
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary
and proper expenses of Salt Lake City and maintaining the govern-
ment thereof, there be and there is hereby levied upon all the
real and personal property within Salt Lake City, Utah, made
taxable by law, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1947, a
tax of 18.50 Mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised for
the following purposes and is and shall be apportioned to such
purposes in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES
To defray contingent expenses, Three Mills (3.000)
on each dollar assessed valuation of :'aid pr 1 ?, .
AUDITOR
To defray the expenses of the Auditor, one hundred
eighty-one thousandths (.181) of a mill on each dollar assessed
valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS & FINANCE
To defray the expenses of the Department of Public
Affairs and Finance, Two Mills (2.000) on each dollar assessed
valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
To defray the expenses of the Department of Public

Safety, Five Mills (5.000) on each dollar assessed valuation of
said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & PUBLIC PROPERTY
To defray the expenses of the Department of Parks and Public
Property, Two Mills (2.000) on each dollar assessed valuation of
said property.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS
To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks, Three
Mills (3.000) on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
BONDS AND INTEREST
For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and to
constitute a Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal of
outstanding bonds, three and three hundred nineteen thousandths
(3.319) of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said pro-
perty.
PUBLIC LIBRARIES
To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms,
One Mill (1.000) on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
It is necessary in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
for the peace, health andsafety of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City, Utah, that this resolution shall take effect upon its
passage and an emergency is hereby declared to exist so that said
levy may be made and said tax collected as required by law.
This resolution shall take effect its adoption.
