Result
WHEREAS, under date of May 22, 1947, an agreement was
entered into between The Senver Rio Grande Western Railroad Com-
pany, a corporation, Oregon Short Line Railroad Company, a corpor-
ation, and Salt Lake City Corporation, a municipal corporation,
by the terms of which the said railroad companies agreed to remove
trackage now existing on 6th West Street in Salt Lake City and to
construct other trackage in lieu thereof upon 4th West Street in
Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the construction of railroad tracks along 4th
West Street will occupy the whole of said street and will make
dangerous the use of said street for vehicular traffic along that
portion of said street hereinafter described, being the west half
of said street; the east half already being occupied by railroad
tracks; and
WHEREAS, by the terms of said agreement Salt Lake City
agreed to close to vehicular traffic the west half of 4th West
Street hereinafter described.
N0W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commission-
ers of Salt Lake City that the west half of 4th Vest Street from
the center line of South Temple Street north to the southeasterly
side of proposed new road at the northwest corner of North Temple
and 4th West Streets, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Block 82, Plat A,
Salt Lake City Survey, running thence North 660 ft. to the
Northeast corner of Block 82, thence west 40 ft.,thence
Northeast 77.2 ft. more or less to the point of intersection
of the east line of Block 99, Plat A, produced south, with
the center line of North Temple Street herein fixed as being
12 ft. south from and parallel to the City monument line,
thence North 76.0 ft. to a point 10 ft. north of the South-
east corner of Block 99, thence N. 37u 39' 50" E. 21.37 ft.,
thence East 7.0 ft., thence N. 27° 01' 20" E. 46.87 ft.,
thence northeasterly along a 230 ft. radius curve to the left

108.47 ft., thence South 1030.45 ft. along the east side
of the present 4th West Street to the center line of South
Temple Street herein fixed as being 2 ft. south of the City
monument line, thence 'west 66 ft. more or less, thence North
66 ft. more or less to the point of beginning, being part of
4th West and North Temple streets;
be and the same hereby is closed to vehicular traffic of the pub—
lic, such closing, however, not to affect the right of pedestrians •
to use the stairs to the viaduct, or the elevated pedestrian way,
