Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, There are located on both sides of Main Street, in
Special Lighting District No. 2, between the south line of South
Temple Street and the north line of Fifth South Street, with or
without the permission of the city authorities, poles and poste for
electric and gas lights, that cannot be used for such purpose after
the completion of the lighting system contemplated in said District
No. 2, and which after such lighting system has been completed will
obstruct the use of that part of said street referred to, and also
detraot from the appearance thereof; and
WHEREAS, It is the determination of the Board of Commissioners
of this city that all such poles and posts shell be removed from
said portion of said street:
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City as follows:
1. That ell poles and posts located on both sides of Main
Street between the south line of South Temple Street and the north
line of Fifth South Street that have been erected by private or
oorporate persons, be removed before Ootober 15, 191i.
2. That all permits heretofore granted by the Board of
Commissioners or City Council for the erection of poles or posts
for the purpose of placing thereon lights, either electric or gas,
on either side of Main Street between the south line of South
Temple Street and the north line of Fifth South Street be, and the

same are hereby revoked, and that all persona either individual or
corporate, to whom such permit has been issued, and all persons,
individual or corporate, owning or having control of any such poles
pr posts, are hereby directed to remove the same from said portion
of said street before October 1 , 191i.C_.__
3. That the City is hereby directed within twenty
days after the adoption of this resolution, serve a copy thereof
upon the persons owning or claiming to own or control any such pole
or post.
4. That in the event any pole or post mentioned or referred
to in this resolution has not been removed by the 16th day of
IiOctober, 1916, the Superviror of Streets is hereby directed to
remove the same. j
