RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Salt Lake construct additional shop facilities for its Water Department and for its Parks Department for the purpose of providing for the City and the inhabitants thereof more appropriate and necessary shop facilities for said departments; and WHEREAS, it is necessary in the construction of said shop facilities that appropriate and necessary rights of way and ease- ments be obtained for the purpose of ingress and egress to said facilities and for the purpose cf construction of the necessary utili- ties to said property and facilities; and WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition of the real property and interest therein for the purpose of construction of said facilities and in particular require the acquisition of easements for ingress and egress to said facilities and for the purpose of construction of the necessary utilities to said property; and WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition of the real property interests hereinafter described for the above-designated public improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it is necessary and in the public interest of said City and its inhabitants that the City construct additional shop facilities for its Water Department and its Parks Department in order to provide more adequate, appropriate and neces- sary shop facilities for said departments; That it is necessary and in the public interest of said City and its inhabitants that the real property hereinafter described be available to them for the construction of Water Department and Parks Department shops and specifically for ingress and egress there- from and for the purpose of construction of the necessary utilities to said property; That the construction of the additional shop facilities for the Water Department and the Parks Department to provide more adequate, appropriate and necessary shop facilities for said departments upon, over and in the lands hereinafter described is hereby authorized; That the said land hereinafter described and the whole thereof, including the rights of way thereto, is hereby determined to be necessary and the most suitable for the construction of the shop facilities referred to above, and the acquisition of said land by Salt Lake City for such purpose is hereby declared to be a public necessity and for the convenience, welfare, safety and protection of the inhabitants of said City. • . -2- That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are, authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department of Salt Lake City to acquire thereby all the land here- inafter described and particularly the rights of way described for the necessary construction of the additional shop facilities for the Water Department and the Parks Department as above set forth; That the property upon which it is proposed to construct said shop facilities is as follows: Parcel No. 1: All of the East 44 rods of Lot 18, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, and contained within the limits of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 13, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Meridian. Parcel No. 2: Commencing 2 rods East from the Southwest corner of Lot 17, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "A," Big Field Survey and running thence East 507 feet; thence North 155.1 feet; thence East 62.25 feet; thence North 132 feet; thence West 341/2 rods; thence South 17.4 rods to beginning. Parcel No. 3: Also, commencing 225 feet West from the Northeast corner of Lot 19, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "A," Big Field Survey; and running thence West 501 feet; thence South 166.383 feet; thence East 412 feet; thence North 22.833 feet; thence East 89 feet; thence North 143.55 feet, to beginning. That the property over, under and through which it is necessary for the City to acquire a right of way, including but not limited to the rights of ingress and egress and rights for utility easements and all other easements and rights of way necessary and incident to the utilization of the property described above, is as follows: Beginning 314 feet West and 166.383 feet South from the Northeast corner of Lot 19, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "A', Big Field Survey, and running thence West 66 feet; thence South 120.83 feet; thence East 66 feet; thence North 120.83 feet to the place of beginning. That the property upon which the City intends to construct said Water Department shop and Parks Department facilities which is part of the above-described parcels and which it is necessary to condemn through its right of emminent domain to accomplish said purposes is as follows: -3- Beginning 314 feet West from the Northeast Corner of Lot 19, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, and running thence West 66 feet; thence South 166.383 feet; thence East 66 feet; thence North 166.383 feet to the point of beginning.
