Judge of Election who administered oath Polling Place • Address Consolidated Election District No. J 7 Salt Lake City, Utah November 25 , 1970 The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, met in regular session at its regular meeting place in the City Hall in said City at 10:00 o'clock A.M., on the 25th day of November , 1970, with the following mem- bers of the Board of Commissioners present, to wit: J. Bracken Lee, Mayor Conrad B. Harrison , Commissioner George B. Catmull , Commissioner E. J. Garn , Commissioner , Commissioner There were absent: James L. Barker, Jr., Commissioner There were also present Herman J. Hogensen, City Recorder and Jack L. Crellin, City Attorney. After the meeting had been called to order, the following resolution was introduced in writing, was read in full and pursuant to motion duly made by Commissioner Conrad B. Harrison, and seconded by Commissioner Geo. B. Catmull , was adopted by the following vote: YEA: Mayor J. Bracken Lee Commissioner Conrad B. Harrison Commissioner George B. Catmull Commissioner E. J. Garn H NAY: None. The resolution was then signed by the Mayor in open meeting and recorded by the City Recorder. The resolution is as follows: RESOLUTION NUMBER 63 A RESOLUTION appointing the election judges and alternate election judges to serve at each polling place established for the December 1, 1970, election upon the issuance of $25,000,000 General Obligation Airport Bonds of Salt Lake City, Utah. WHEREAS by resolution adopted on October 22 , 1970, a special bond election has been called to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on December 1, 1970, upon the issuance of $25,000,000 General Obligation Airport Bonds; and WHEREAS in said resolution of October 22 , 1970, for purposes of the aforesaid special bond election the regular election districts of the city were combined into 58 Special Bond Election Consolidated Districts and it was provided in Section 2 of said resolution that the election judges and the alternate election judges to serve at each voting place so established to serve each of the aforesaid Special Bond Election Consolidated Districts would be named by resolution to be thereafter adopted; and WHEREAS the City Recorder has compiled a list of the election officials to conduct said election and it is now desired to appoint said officials and to authorize the City Recorder to take all steps necessary in the instruction of such officials in carrying out their duties as election officials at said special bond election and to direct the City Recorder to advise each such person of their appointment as such election official; -2- H • • NOW, THEREFORE, Be it and it is Hereby Resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, as follows: Section 1. That upon tile adoption of this resolution the City Recorder is directed to advise each of the above named election officials of their appointment to act as an election official in connection with the aforesaid December 1, 1970, special bond election and to instruct each of said election official at such time or times as may be convenient in their duties as election officials at the special bond election. Section 3. That each of the above named election officials shall, before opening the polls on the day of the election, be sworn as provided by law to perform all duties incumbent on them as election officials and once sworn, such election officials may administer any oath and receive any affidavit in connection with the holding of said special bond election required or contemplated by law. Section 4. That if any election official is unable or fails to attend or serve at the voting place for which he was designated at the hour fixed for opening the polls, the other election officials shall appoint, or in the absence of all election officials the voters present shall elect, the necessary number of election officials to serve in the place of the absent or delinquent appointees. Section 5. That immediately after its adoption, this resolution shall be signed by the Mayor and City Recorder, shall be recorded in a book kept for that purpose and shall take immediate effect.
