Dear Mrs. Rees:
The Board of City Commissioners, at its meeting today, approved
a Resolution to you and your family, expressing their appreciation
for the years of service given by Dr. Don M. Rees as a member of
the Board of Trustees of the Salt Lake City Mosquito Abatement
District and for his years of untiring efforts in helping Salt
Lake City.

Result
/ n OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Dr. Don M. Rees, a highly respected citizen and member
of the Board of Trustees of the Salt Lake City Abatement District for
over 38 years, passed away on the 5th day of April, 1976; and
WHEREAS, he served the people of this City faithfully and with
dedication and distinction; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rees, because of his interest and expertise in the
field of mosquito control, was known as the Father of Mosquito Control
in Utah; and
WHEREAS, he organized the Utah Mosquito Abatement Association and
served as its first president in 1948 and also served as president
of the National Association of American Mosquito Control in 1951; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rees was respected, admired and influenced those
with whom he associated and was an inspiration to his students; and
WHEREAS, in his passing Salt Lake City lost one of its most
respected and dedicated citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, that it does express on its own behalf and on
behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City its profound sense of loss
and its most sincere sympathy to the family of Dr. Rees for their
own personal bereavement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered
to the family of Dr. Rees as a token of our sympathy and deep feeling
of loss.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 31st day of August, 1976.
