A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF $8,000 FROM THE
CONTINGENCY FUND FOR CHRISTMAS STREET DECORATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Jaycees have requested a
contribution from the City in the amount of $8,000.00 for
Christmas street decorations in downtown Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is supportive of the street
decoration proposal set forth by the Jaycees; however, the
requested expenditure was unanticipated by the City at the time
of adoption of its 1980-81 fiscal year budget and said budget
therefore does not contain an appropriation for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council has established a non-
departmental contingency fund to finance unanticipated
expenditures for fiscal year 1980-81; and
WHEREAS, expenditures from said fund are subject to City
Council authorization and approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Salt Lake
City, that the street decoration funding request referred to
above is hereby approved for payment from the City's non-
departmental Contingency fund, subject to such specifications and
restrictions as may be imposed by the Director of Public Works.
