Barker / (� Harmsen ✓/ AM Harrison ��.arrison Phillips (d/J4i,va4 RESOLUTION Result / / RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE WHEREAS, William/ Leo "Bill" Fields departed this life on December 13, 1973; and WHEREAS, he was, at the time of his death, the President of the Utah Transit Authority; and WHEREAS, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of that body when the City took it over in 1968; and WHEREAS, Bill Fields was dedicated to the service of the residents of Salt Lake City and devoted his life to the service of his community; and WHEREAS, during his lifetime, he held many civic positions includ- ing President of the Chamber of Commerce from 1957 to 1958; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fields was respected, admired and well-liked by all those who knew him; and WHEREAS, in his passing, Salt Lake City has lost one of its most loyal and respected citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, its profound grievance and expresses its most sincere sympathy to Opal Fields, the wife of Bill Fields, to Major Robert L. Fields, his son, and other survivors for the great personal loss which they have sustained. Be it further resolved that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to Opal Fields as an expression of our sympathy and deep feeling of loss.
