WHEREAS, City and County are owners of the public building known
as the City and County Building located on Washington Square in Salt
Lake City, Utah; and
WHEREAS, said City and County Building has been designated a
historic building and placed on the National Register of Historic
Buildings but the exterior stonework and facade of said building is
in a serious state of disrepair; and
WHEREAS, City and County are desirous of conducting studies,
developing plans and restoring and preserving the exterior of said
City and County Building pursuant to previous agreements entered into
pertaining to the same; and
WHEREAS, it is desired by the parties that contracting for such
architectural and construction work and the obtaining of grants and
funds from Federal sources be handled by City; and the City and County
shall share equally on a 50/50 basis all expenses and any returns from
grants received involving Federal funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, that it does hereby authorize and adopt that
certain Agreement dated September 8 , 1976 between Salt Lake
City and Salt Lake County concerning the restoration and preservation
of the exterior of said City and County Building pursuant to the
requirements of Sections 11-13-1, et seq. , U Code Annotated.
