OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Newel G. Knight passed away September 19, 1979; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knight was employed by Salt Lake City for more
than 40 years in various capacities including Deputy City Auditor
and City Historian; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knight's expertise and knowledge in the field
of the history of Salt Lake was well recognized by his fellow
employees; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knight also served as a State Senator.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of City Commissioners, on behalf
of themselves, the employees of Salt Lake City and the City
residents hereby extend their deepest felt condolences to the
family of Newel G. Knight. May they ever be comforted in their
loss by the bright memory of his many accomplishments and
service to his fellow citizens of Salt Lake City.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this 25th day of September, 1979.
