Greener Hogensen Phillips RESOLUTION Result / OF APPRECIATION WHEREAS, NICHOLAS P. VANDERWERFF retired from Salt Lake City Streets Department on September 1, 1976; and WHEREAS, Mr. Vanderwerff has served Salt Lake City since July 27, 1949 until October 1, 1958 and again from March 23, 1963 to the date of his retirement; and WHEREAS, he has worked long and conscientiously, taking great pride in his work despite the distraction of physical illness personally and with family; and WHEREAS, Mr. Vanderwerff has earned the respect and friendship of his co-workers, holding many positions of responsibility, including Foreman II and Construction Inspector II, setting an example by, among other things, his excellent attendance records. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City that the Board does hereby express to NICHOLAS P. VANDERWERFF, on behalf of itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, Utah, their sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable service and for his years of loyalty, dedication and service. The Board further extends its warmest wishes for happiness and health to him and to his family. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to him personally.
