A RESOLUTION LEVYINNG TAXES UPON/ALL REAL AND PERSONAL
PROPERTY WITHIN. SALT LAK CITY, UTAH, MADE TAXABLE BY LAW FOR
THE YEAR 1952.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
That for the purpose of defraying the necessary and
proper expense of Salt Lake City and maintaining the Government
thereof, there be and there is hereby levied upon all the real
and personal property within Salt Lake City, Utah, made taxable
by law, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1952, a tax of
18.5 mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property
for Salt Lake City and 1. mill on each dollar assessed valua-
tion of said property for the Library Board.
Said tax is hereby levied and to be raised for the
following purposes and is and shall be apportioned to such
purposes in the following manner:
CONTINGENT EXPENSES
To defray contingent expenses, three (3.000) Mills on
each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS
To open, improve and repair streets and sidewalks,
three (3.000) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
SEWERS AND DRAINS
To defray the expense of sewers and drains, two
(2.000) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
BONDS AND INTEREST
For the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and
to constitute a Sinking Fund for the payment of the principal
of outstanding bonds, one and five hundred thousandths (1.500)
mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
AUDITOR
To defray the expense of the Auditor, three tenths (.3)
of a mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY
To defray the expenses of the Department of Parks and
Public Property, two (2.000) mills on each dollar assessed
valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND FINANCE
To defray the expenses of the Department of Public Affairs
and Finance, one and seven hundred thousandths (1.700) mills on
each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
To defray the expense of the Department of Public Safety,
five (5.000) mills on each dollar assessed valuation of said
property.
LIBRARY BOARD
To maintain public libraries and free reading rooms, one
(1.000) mill on each dollar assessed valuation of said property.
It is necessary in the opinion of the Board of Commiss-
ioners for the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City, Utah, that this resolution shall takeeffect upon
its passage, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist so
that said levy may be made and said tax collected as required by
law.
