BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
WHEREAS, Mr. George M- Gadsby, former president of
the Utah Power and Light Company, passed away on March 29,
1960, A. D.; and
WHEREAS, he had served the citizens of Salt Lake City--'
faithfully and with high honor and distinction as president of
the Utah Power and Light Company, as a national leader in the
field of public utilities and the de+elopment of private power,
an active Mason and Rotarian, member of the State Board of Fine
Arts, former chairman of the United Service Organizations, active
in Boy Scout work and under-privileged boy activities, and chair-
man of the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Capital Improvements
for Salt Lake City at the time of his death, a fine gentleman,
Christian and public-spirited citizen;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, State of Utah, does hereby pay
tribute to him for his integrity and devotion to the various
enterprises with which hevas associated; for his great accomplish-
ments in civic, business and fraternal affairs; for the endless
patience and great resourcefulness with which he worked for the
best interests of the State and City; for the love and friendship
which he had for neighbors, fellow associates and for his rich
contribution to the citizens of the State of Utah and more
particularly for the City of Salt Lake.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
be delivered to the family of George M. Gadsby with an expression
of our sympathy and our sincere appreciation for the contributions
he made to the welfare and advancement of our City and State.
