RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE TO FAMILY OF ELDER GEORGE Q. MORRIS
WHEREAS, Elder George Q. Morris, a member of the Council of
Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, died
Monday, April 23, 1962; and
WHEREAS, Elder Morris had dedicated his long and fruitful life
to the service of his church, his country, and this community; and
WHEREAS, he has served with marked distinction as church leader,
scouter, youth leader, business man and civic leader; and
WHEREAS, his kindly, friendly nature and good will , his integrity
and devotion endeared him to all who knew him; and
WHEREAS, his life's labors have been of great benefit to the
State of Utah, his church, and his country; and
WHEREAS, his passing is a great loss, not only to his family,
but to this community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it express to the bereaved family of Elder George Q. Morris
its sincere and deepest sympathy, and that it pay tribute to him for
his devoted service to his church, and his country, to this community
and to the many persons who have come under his inspiring influence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Recorder forward a copy
of this Resolution to the family of George Q. Morris, deceased.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 24th day of April, 1962.
